Sean Hoopers initial interest in stick making came to him whilst he was still a student at the Royal College of Music in London. He was very dissatisfied with the products available to timpanists and percussionists. He felt this was due to sticks of the time being comercially made and therefore there wasn't as much attention to design or construction.

From this initial dissatisfaction, Sean went on to research and learn about the best materials and methods to manufacture his own brand of sticks which he was then able to supply to his students and other proffesional percussionists. Those who have used Sean's sticks include Kurt-Hans Goedicke, former timpanist of the London Symphony Orchestra.
Now, many years later, his passion for and commitment to making the best sticks possible is as strong as ever and every stick and mallet is handmade throughout, even the budget range student timpani sticks.
