Vic Firth American Classic® 5A

Tear drop tip for rich cymbal sounds. Light and fast for jazz orchestral and pit work. With bold designs for fuller sound, the Classics are turned from select hickory – a dense wood with little flex for a more pronounced sound. Hickory is also capable of withstanding a great deal of shock, making it highly durable.

The wood tips are deeply back-cut for intensified cymbal response. The nylon tips are similar in size and shape to their wood counterparts, providing enhanced performance and a feel closer to their original wood tip models.

  • Length - 16"
  • Diameter - .565"
Vic Firth describe the American Classic 5A as, "one of the world's most popular drumstick models" so it probably won't surprise you when we tell you that the Vic Firth 5A American Classic Wood Tip is our stores best selling drumstick.
Vic Virth are one of those wonderful companies that care deeply about their products and each pair of sticks is scrutinised through 3 separate processes which use incredibly intricate machinery. These processes ensure that the sticks are balanced in terms of weight, pitch and even colour. So not only do you get a pair of sticks that play fantastically, they're also pretty to look at. How lovely.
This series of stick is made from Hickory, a dense wood which is capable of withstanding a great deal of shock, making it not only the ideal wood for drumsticks but also the ideal viewing partner when watching scary movies.
With so much love being invested in to Vic Firth, it's no wonder that the love and commitment is being returned by a large number of incredible musicians. Current endorsees include Steve Smith, Benny Greb, Dave Weckl, Peter Erskine, Dave Elitch, Gregg Bissonette, Keith Carlock, Jojo Mayer and Thomas Lang.
