Carpet Beater for Hire
The carpet beater, as well as a useful tool for cleaning carpets and rugs in the 19th century, is used as a percussion instrument, effect and beater in its own right. Can be used as a mallet for bass drums, tam tams and thunder sheets, or to tame a rogue brass section. My mother used a wooden spoon on me when I was naughty as a child (it wasn't illegal back then), but I feel as though the carpet beater would be on par if not slightly worse.
