Chalklin Mushroom Medium Vibraphone/Marimba Mallets Rattan MU-MB-M-R. Mushroom mallets were designed in collaboration between Chalklin and Bell. At the time it was felt there was a requirement in the market for a different style of vibraphone mallet. The core of each Mushroom mallets is rubber, shaped like a mushroom but with an additional metal weight which gives a greater shaft/head balance. Like the Rich Tone mallets, the centre is then wrapped with wool which produces a heavy and sonorous tone. Available in seven models from hard to soft-soft these dual purpose vibe/marimba mallets feature the traditional mushroom shape wool wound head. Supplied with rattan handles as standard.
