Description
Doumbek for Hire
An Arabic vase shaped drum generally made of metal although sometimes clay or wood and played with the hands. Modern doubek's use the conventional tension rods attached to the shell of the drum to give the drum its tension and therefore sound, although the original drums used a lattice work of cord wound round the top half of the shell. Held under one arm, the professional can draw out an incredible range of sounds and scintillating rhythms
