This is an Italian creation that takes the shape of a hardwood wooden board that has a handle carved into the wood. Halfway up the wooden board there is a metal knocker, not dissimilar to a door-knocker. When held and turned sharply left and right, the knocker hits the wood and if this is done quickly, in the hands of a professional can sound like a machine gun!
