Tuned Anvils for Hire

This particular set of Tuned Anvils are pitched from F#6 - F7. This is the octave above the range of our Scaffaphone which means we have an overall range of Tuned Anvils from F3 - F7. The sound produced with hammers is metallic, loud and harsh, but with soft yarn or timpani mallets can be quite mellow.

This particular set was created for a new piece by Thomas Ades which was first performed at the BBC proms in 2013 called Totentanz. The composer visited Bell Percussion and loved our Scaffaphone but wanted notes that were another octave above the notes of the Scaffaphone so we made an extended range. The piece features a brilliant selection of percussion including wooden clappers, steel sheets, wooden slide whistles, and our 60" Taiko.
