Bodhran for Hire
Pronounced 'boraan', this hand drum has its origins in Ireland. A single frame drum around 16 - 18", it is held with one hand whilst the other uses a short double ended stick that is bulbous at both ends. The player then rotates their wrist at speed and in the hands of a professional the effect that this has with traditional Irish music can be stunning. This instrument is a classic example of looking easy to play, but in reality takes many years to master fully.
