Aburukua Drum for Hire
The Aburukua (or Aburukuwa) is a Tribal drum from the 'Kete' Tribe. It can be used as a set of five drums painted with red and black squares, which are the colours traditionally used at funerals. These drums can be played with both hand and stick. The Aburukuwa is the smallest of the three drums used during rituals and ceremonies. The Aburukuwa and its sister drums, the Kwadum and the Apentemma, were typically covered by red and black felt to represent death and blood. Although the drums have become associated with funerals and ancestor worship, they were also used during wartime.
