Jerry Can for Hire
The origin of this instrument comes from the 1947 film 'Ice Cold in Alex' starring John Mills. The jerry can played a large role in the film and it was here that the metal boominess was first discovered. These days, the jerry can is generally hung on a boom stand and struck with wooden sticks. It is very important that only wooden sticks are used and not metal, as sparks could ignite any residual petrol fumes with tragic, yet possibly artistic, results.
