A very effective percussion effect that comes directly from the wheels of a car. The spring coil are literally the steel springs from car shock absorbers. When the spring coil is hung with nylon string from a stand, the sound is a unique "boiningininginging" that can vibrate for some time. The quality of spring coils though is patchy and it takes some time to find a coil that will vibrate well.
