Bell Plates for Hire
A recent invention, bell plates were designed to replicate the sound of bells but using plates of metal rather than tubes. The success rate has been patchy and this has been in no small part due to the quality and make-up of the material or alloy used. The best results have come from the heavier, brassy material rather than the lighter aluminium based plates. Bell plates range in pitch from C#2 - D#5. (middle C being C4). The more regular bell plates are found regularly in the more modern classical repertoire and are written for regularly in films and jingles.
