Dice for Hire
Originating in Las Vegas, this effect has been used sparingly as a percussion effect. The leather shaker is generally more effective as the metal dice shaker can sound like marbles in a tin. This effect has the benefit of two distinctively different sounds. Sound one is achieved when the player shakes the dice in the shaker leading onto sound two, the release of the dice. Exhaustive research has shown that a laminated, chipboard table produces the desired effect. No more than nine dice should be used.
